We've got a lot of great customers who have been using us for many years both as Provender Nurseries since January 2013 and, before that, as Wyevale East Nurseries. This is what some of them have to say about our service and our plants and products...
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for the continued supply of trees and plants from Provender Nurseries. As you know we’ve been a customer for the best part of 10 years and have used you for many extensive planting projects, but this one outside Buckhurst Lodge in Wadhurst is of particular note. I brought our client to the nursery to look at the stock and we picked individual trees that we knew would fit well. As always you guys were incredibly helpful during the visit and also during the whole supply process. The stock is of great quality and I’m sure will develop into a fantastic screen and border over the next year or so. I will certainly continue to go to Provender Nurseries for stock and Sandstone will continue to promote you.
I run a busy design and build firm in central London, which dictates a hectic and demanding schedule. For over 6 years now I have had the pleasure of working with Provender Nurseries (Wyevale East before 2013) and this collaboration is one of the secrets of our success. They always have what I need and they always say yes to delivering it when I need it. Plus everybody is so easy going and pleasant to work with. To have top quality plants sent at any day of the week into any location, with compost and pebbles just makes my life so much easier. When my crew is happy, then my customers are happy.
Provender Nurseries is a great resource for any landscaper or designer - a one stop shop for plants, soil, pebbles, stone, sail-shades etc. Provender Nurseries (Wyevale East before 2013) has been my primary source of plants since 2006, due to their year round fantastic plants, especially the larger specimens for 'instant' gardens many of my clients want. The knowledgeable staff always do their best to get the unusual specimens that I need as showpieces for my smaller gardens. Everyone is so helpful and pleasant to work with. I love the easy to use online ordering system, it saves me so much time, what great service! It's great to be able to get what I need delivered when I want it. Bring your clients to Provender Nurseries, I do, they love it!!
I first worked with Provender Nurseries, formerly Wyevale East Nurseries, in 2010 in the first year of their Student Design & Build Competition. I won the competition that year with my design for a small garden at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, ‘Wild in the City’ and we worked together in the lead up to the show in 2011, sourcing the plants (which were fantastic and in abundance!) organising and planning, culminating in the build of the garden at the show. The staff were all heavily involved in the build and manning the garden during the show. They were all lovely, very friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. The support and encouragement I received from them all, both through the competition, all their involvement and enthusiasm during the process, helped in making my decision to start up my own Garden Design business after graduating from college in 2011. I have a lot to thank them for and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future!
It's wonderful...Provender Nurseries is the kind of place that all professional garden designers and landscapers should have at the top of their list. A recipe of a year round stock of thousands of carefully nurtured plants, up to very large containerised specimens, coupled with outstanding service, professionalism, efficiency and on time every time delivery -all served with a large dollop of humour - make for a dish that is hard to resist!
I have been using Provender Nurseries for many years now as my sole supplier of plants, soils and aggregates for my garden design and landscape business’ The Black Gardener’. The choice of plants is wide, varied and perfectly suits my pallette and those of my clients.
Having been in the design and landscaping business for many years, quality and value are of utmost importance to my business, as such I would use no other company to supply my jobs.
The whole team are supportive, knowledgeable and extremely friendly to deal with. Nothing is ever too much trouble and with such a friendly crew it is easy to see why Provender Nurseries is my only choice for supply.
I have recently started television presenting for a new gardening programme ‘The Instant Gardener’ and had no qualms in asking Provender Nurseries for their support in being my only supplier for all of the gardens being filmed.
I would happily recommend anyone in the horticultural industry to use Provender Nurseries.
I first met the team from Provender Nurseries when as a student I won the planting design competition that they sponsored at Capel Manor College in October 2012. Their guidance was invaluable as I saw the project through to fruition and planted up ‘The Provender Garden’ (with Liz’s help) at Capel Manor Gardens in Enfield.
I have since used Provender Nurseries on most of my garden projects. As one of the few (if not the only) nursery to be able to supply all of my garden design needs in one order – plants, soil, mulch, aggregates and other sundries – I find it extremely convenient to use. Everything arrives in one delivery saving a great deal of time and energy. The wide variety of plants are of excellent quality and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. I use the informative website for both detailed plant information and a way of costing the plants before I commit.
When I needed specific plants for my Gold medal winning ‘Spirit of the Aegean’ garden at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2015, they came up trumps, supplying mature specimens, topiary and herbaceous perennials at very short notice.
I wholeheartedly recommend Provender Nurseries and only wish that they were located closer to me in SW London.

’Being a family run business, uniformity of quality and supply is important to GI Landscapes when selecting suppliers. GI Landscapes have been using Provender Nurseries, formerly East Horticulture and Wyevale East Nurseries, for both plants and soils for many years now and the quality and service has remained consistent throughout. We find the team are professional and a pleasure to deal with. They are always open to our requests for plants and sundries and happily collate orders together for us to same our team time. As well as great customer service, there is always a cup of tea and a smile when we come in through the door.
To put our comments below in context Provender Nurseries source a significant number of plants for us annually and have been faithfully serving us for the past six years (including under their previous guise of Wyevale East). The superb staff team and their dedication to supplying both great quality plants and excellent service time and again, mean that for us they are simply the first choice every time. They genuinely do everything possible to help source plants from the high quantity number orders, to the large and unusual one off specimens. Deliveries are efficient and reliable making the experience as a whole easy, stress free and enjoyable. We have no hesitation in our whole hearted recommendation of this knowledgeable bunch!
Streetscape, a registered charity and social enterprise, has been maintaining the entranceway to Provender Nurseries since 2011. Streetscape provide apprenticeships in landscape gardening to 18-25 year olds who are long-term unemployed, helping them to build the skills, experience and attributes they need to fulfill their dreams and move into and retain work: growing lives, transforming landscapes. ‘The people who work for Streetscape are a pleasure to have on site as they work in a clean, tidy, polite and professional manor at all times. Provender Nurseries are happy to support such a worthwhile charitable cause which brings new talent into the world of horticulture.’ – Richard McKenna, Managing Director of Provender Nurseries
What more can we say but fantastic! We have been using Provender Nurseries - formerly Wyevale East Nurseries and East Horticulture – since we started up our design and build business over six years ago. They have been our main suppliers of plants, turf, soil and sundries from day one! Not only does Provender offer a wide range of quality stock and unusual plants, but if there are plants that they do not have, they will go out of their way to source them for you. Their online resource and ordering service is full of helpful tips and information, and is an enormous aid for any garden designer, gardener or landscaper, making sourcing and costing plants so much simpler!
The staff are fantastic and always on hand with a cup of tea and a friendly smile they always make us and our clients feel welcome. They have an amazing wealth of knowledge between them that they are always happy to share and are willing to help with any problems. It is so important for our business to have a good and reliable relationship with our suppliers and we cannot recommend Provender Nurseries enough and we thus we would like to say a Big Thank You!
I've been using Provender Nurseries (and before that, Wyevale East) for just over three years now and have always found I can rely on the superb quality of the plants there. The range of plants is good too, making the sourcing process even easier. The staff are both helpful and knowledegable and if I need something unusual that they haven't got they'll do their best to source it for me.
I am writing to say how very pleased I am with the bespoke compost mix I had made for me by Provender Nurseries.
I am a grower of perennial plants which I take to garden shows and I also sell plants online. I was in need of a compost which was light weight for the posted plants but also able to support full grown perennial plants up to 6ft. After consultation we came up with a mix which contains Hydroleca as well as organic compost, topsoil, slow release feed and vine weevil control.
This mix has proved to be fantastic and the plants look as good as any I have grown in 30 years of experience.
I have been using Provender Nurseries (previously Wyevale East Nurseries) for plant and sundries supplies for around 5 years. As a commercial landscape maintenance and design business with clients expecting only the best and at the best price, we have always been very happy with the quality of the plants and the level of service is excellent. Challenges are met with enthusiasm and my requests for strange and unusual plants with professional courtesy and care. The team are an exceptional bunch and without giving too much away I can honestly say, it feels like being at home whenever I visit.
As a garden designer I go to Provender Nursery as my first choice for supplying plants for my projects. I used to spend precious time searching different nurseries to get the plants I want but now I just send my planting schedule to one of the team and if they don’t have any in their large stock base they can normally source them for me or offer sensible substitutions. They always get back to me promptly and I have been happy with plant quality, any issues have been dealt with straight away. They have a good stock of specimen plants and trees, well worth a visit to have a look around.
Provender Nurseries provide exeptional service, are incredibly reliable and deliver on quality. What more could you ask for? My clients demanding expectations to provide great plants for their newly constructed gardens could be a headache, but with Provender Nurseries' exceptional service, the online ordering and the genuine interest in what is to be achieved, makes them first on my list. If they dont have the plants, they know where to source them. They have also developed a palette of interesting and unusual plants that are not easy to get hold of, this creates an extra dynamic to their success!!
Having stumbled upon Provender Nurseries a number of years ago, I was keen to peruse their impressive range of plants. Both the usual and unusual are here on this large and well laid out site. Whether you are after specimen trees, clipped topiary or the tiniest of Alpines they can all be found in abundance and are stocked in a range of pot sizes to suit most needs, as indeed are the genuinely helpful staff. There's always someone who will take an interest and give you the time and help you require.
Last year, in 2012, as testament to the quality of the plants, Twigs won na RHS Silver Flora Medal at Malvern Spring Show and an RHS Silver-Gilt flora and People’s Choice Award at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, both of which were entirely stocked with plants from the nursery straight from the cash and carry beds.
I am very happy to recommend Provender Nurseries to others.

I have been a customer at Provender Nurseries (previously Wyevale East) for a few years now. Many plants for my World Garden at Lullingstone Castle have come from Provender Nurseries and know I can rely on them to look good and stay healthy. Richard Mckenna and his team are both friendly and helpful and have some great plant knowledge. Through my involvement with Provender Nurseries' seminar day earlier this year, I have had many new visitors to the World Garden.
