Olea europaea are one of the most iconic plants for Mediterranean style gardens and an excellent choice for drought tolerant planting. Coming in many shapes, sizes and forms Olives make striking focal points whether in the ground or in containers.
We are often asked how old Olive trees are. Larger mature Olives with characteristic gnarled old bark can be up to 100 years old or even older. These magnificent specimens are rescued from commercial Olive groves used for producing Olive oil and are often planted as standalone focal points.
Smaller Olives are ideal choices for planting in decorative containers for formal planting and more relaxed informal styles.
