Hakonechloa macra

Hakonechloa macra

Hakonechloa is one of the most popular ornamental grasses used in gardens and when you see them in full growth in the summer it is no surprise why.

The leaves on a Hakonechloa macra develop red-brown tints in autumn and persist into winter. Excellent in full shade, semi-shade and sunny positions. They are useful under trees, in containers and in mixed borders. An all-round great grass.

Hakonechloa macra looks great in the following projects:

  • Cottage and informal gardens
  • Patio and container plants
  • City and courtyard gardens
  • Low maintenance
  • Flower borders and beds
  • Garden edging
  • Underplanting of roses and shrubs

Part of our own production range. Grown in peat-free compost and kerb-recyclable pots.
