Sales Team Executive
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Saturday AM on a rota basis).
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 (dependent on essential fit - experience/knowledge)

Role purpose
To provide excellent customer service, maintain customer relationships, encourage new customers and win new business opportunities by providing quotes, handling online orders, processing orders and overseeing the transactions from confirmation to completion to help the company exceed sales targets.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide accurate quotes by email or telephone
- Process online orders using company retail system
- Liaise with customers over stock shortages or quality issues, offer compatible substitutes of in-stock lines where possible and order plants in when required
- Source stock for order fulfillment
- Submit orders for picking
- Process sales orders on time and oversee the smooth running of an order
- Keep customers informed and updated on the progress of their orders and manage expectations
- Follow sales order procedures
- Keep up to date with current plant health issues and make sure that Provender is working in line with current Bio-security guidelines
- Provide guidance and advice to customers
- Keep abreast of stock held on site
- Ensure customer credit limits are not exceeded
- Ensure payments are made before dispatch
- Book deliveries where required with the Goods Delivery Planner/Transport Administrator and keep informed of any changes
- Maintain sales margin
- Follow up quotes not won to ascertain why not won
- Evaluate order conversion and lost orders
- Grow the sales pipeline to ensure future sales targets are met
- Attend trade shows and events as and when required
- Assisting at the sales counter when required
Person Specification
- Possesses the ability to work quickly but accurately, whilst prioritising tasks effectively
- Will be dynamic, self-motivated and well organised with a proactive nature to determine when other tasks need to be carried out and take ownership of them
- Demonstrates a professional manner and has excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Is confident dealing with customers, suppliers and staff by phone, in-person and email.
- Can work alone and as part of a team and is IT literate/willing to learn to operate new software when needed
- Accurate and timely input and management of data
- Demonstrate good attention to detail and work well under pressure during the peak season
- Experience of working in a busy administrative environment, ideally within Sales
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills through conducting your own investigation and with input from others
- Experience of dealing directly with customers to prepare process orders, deal with queries and take payments.
