Tetradium daniellii

Tetradium daniellii

Not a tree you see every day, but well worth hunting out. You may find it under one of its other names Bee-bee tree and Evodium.

An elegant slow-growing option with a broad open crown, valuable to wildlife and providing late summer colour through to autumn.

Sprays of aromatic, small cup-shaped white flowers are freely produced in late summer when few other trees are in flower.

The late summer flowers provide valuable colour and attract bees and other insects due to their abundant nectar supply. In the autumn, dense clusters of small red – purple berries adorn the tree in large numbers.

Full sun to partial shade. Well-drained soil. Any soil type.

Great for wildlife gardens and informal gardens. Reaches a height of 10–15m and spread of 4-8m.
