Chimonanthus praecox for its Winter Scent

A personal favourite of winter scented plants is the Chimonanthus praecox. Lesser known than many other winter scented plants, but now gaining in popularity. Also known as Wintersweet, and it most certainly is. The highly scented, pale yellow flowers with purple stains inside to the bottom of each petal, are freely produced from December through to late February and really pack a punch, scent-wise. Plant in full sun and mulch often, sit back and enjoy!
