Japanese Cedar An unusual conifer with elegant soft fluffy evergreen foliage making a small tree at maturity. The bushy juvenile foliage is feathery in appearance and incredibly soft to touch. The evergreen leaves offer a contrast to other plants in the garden and as an extra interest turn red bronze during autumn and winter and develops soft spongy bark as the tree matures. It is such an unusual foliage plant that provides wonderful contrast within a garden and many gardeners struggle to identify it quite simply as it looks like nothing else! Colour is best when the conifer is planted in a light position. Eventual height up to 7 metres with spread of 4 metres. Easily grown but best in moist soils but avoid waterlogged sites.
