These lovely evergreen plants develop sturdy woody stems with topped with characteristic leathery dark green leaves. This plant is one to make a dramatic statement. Cycas are slow growing making them an ideal option for planting in a decorative container.
Small plants may benefit from some winter protection, however older plants fair well outside given some shelter in the winter. Good for partial shade and in a moist but well drained slightly acidic soil. Plant with other exotic plants for full dramatic effect. Cycas can also be used in atriums and unheated conservatories.
