Ptelea trifoliata

Probably the most photographed tree on site in the last 10 days or so.  Commonly known as the Hop Tree.  The small fragrant yellowish flowers are freely produced in the summer and are then followed in the autumn by the winged, hop-like fruits.  This tree has a hidden surprise in the bark which is aromatic!   Plant in full sun to dappled shade.  An excellent choice for wildlife gardens providing nectar and pollen.
