Singing at this time of year and standing proud are the delightful Echinacea, elegantly flowering from July through to October.

Echinacea are an absolute magnet for bees the colours of Echinacea range from purple to reds, oranges and pure white.

The common name of Cone Flower is derived from the prominent central cone that stands proud of the flowers giving another dimension.

A favourite with Piet Oudolf fans Echinacea are a popular choice to plant alongside grasses in bold drifts.  There is however room for an Echinacea in any sunny position in the garden.
