Simple Tricks to help with water conservation:
- Remove any weeds or unwanted plants that will compete for water
- Irrigation is best applied early in the morning or in the evening when less water is lost to evaporation in the heat of the day.
- Use drip irrigation for plants in containers
- Place saucers under containers
- Group containers in gravel trays for easy watering
- Consider moving containers to a more shady spot whilst the weather is very hot
- Check existing watering systems for efficiency and leaks
