Acers have many attractive values that carry through the seasons; spring foliage, colourful stems on certain options and of course, their fiery autumn foliage.
Where to Grow
Acer palmatum are best in partial or dappled shade in a spot out of the wind. Slightly acidic moist but well drained soil. Mulch each autumn and if in a container, repot every three years. No pruning needed except for removal of dead wood in the dormant season.
