Today’s walk around on site to check out winter colour brought some interesting options that are not your usual suspects.
Heptacodium micinioides. We often showcase Heptacodium in the summer when in full leaf and flower. However, this morning, the stunning bark colour that we often mention really stuck out. It’s great to see them shine on a dull winter day.
Another contender for fabulous bark colour are these Salix viminalis. Strong orange bark colour hat is accentuated on a damp day.
A favourite in the conifer world and another contender for excellent winter interest is Cryptomeria jap. Elegans. The soft foliage takes on an orange – bronze– cinnamon hue in the colder months. It’s a plant that is pleasingly tactile.
All plants mentioned and all images are here in stock, on site and ready for you to come and reserve for your upcoming projects.
