Alnus glutinosa 'Imperialis'

Alnus glutinosa 'Imperialis'

A finely cut leaved version of Common Alder.

'Imperialis' forms an attractive, graceful slender tree with deeply and finely cut leaves, adding to the overall dainty appearance.

Yellow catkins in March are followed by the bright green finely cut emerging foliage.  Purple cones appear in winter.

An excellent option in poor wet soils and useful for attracting wildlife and in coastal areas.

Height 15m.
