Phillyrea angustifolia is a plant that should be better known.  Sometimes known as the Green Olive, you can see the similarities as soon as you see the plant.

Long, narrow, dark green leaves are held on this evergreen compact shrub/small tree.

Small clusters of fragrant yellow-green flowers are freely produced in late spring to early summer followed by black fruits in the autumn.

A great choice for coastal areas and useful as a shrub, hedging or a multi-stem, reaching a height and spread of 4-6m. It can be easily pruned to shape. Full sun to partial shade in a neutral to acidic soil.
