Pinus mugo - featuring at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

Small Pines are all the rage at the moment and rightly so - everything you love about a Pine in a small package!

Commonly known as 'Dwarf Mountain Pine', there are some excellent options available.

Benjamin. Truly dwarf option reaching the dizzy heights of 1.2m in height and spread. Dark green needles and dense rounded habit. Hardy down to -50oC.

Ophir. Another dwarf option reaching 60cm to 1m in height and spread. Fantastic long golden needles in the winter changing to green in the summer months, forming a compact, bun-shaped Dwarf Pine.

Winter Gold. The slightly twisted needles emerge bright green in spring before turning to golden yellow in the winter.  Dome-shaped option reaching 1.5m in height and spread.

All Pines like a well drained soil and are an excellent option for drought resilience, flooding and high temperatures. Literally maintenance-free.
