GOING GREEN. Killing Weeds the Harmless Way

GOING GREEN. Killing Weeds the Harmless Way

This seems like a contradiction in terms however there are now more products to use that kill weeds naturally.  You often see posts on various Facebook pages about diluting vinegar with water to kill weeds but this will kill off any soil organisms too.  The items that we have selected use natural occurring ingredients and are Glyphosate free.

Super Fast Weedkiller is made from naturally occurring active ingredients. Super fast action weedkiller, for use between April and October. Active ingredient is natural fatty acids.  Great alternative for Glyphosate.

Moss and Algae Killer (Neudorff).  Use in the garden as a complete herbicide for moss and algae. Mix 170ml with 1L of water and apply to 180 square metres, drench the moss and algae to guarantee optimum absorption. Active ingredient 186.7g/l pelargonic acid.  The Pelargonic acid penetrates the waxy layer of the leaf and destroys the outer cell walls.  Keep children and pets out of treated areas until the product has dried.

Weedkiller Glyphosate Free (Neudorff).  This weedkiller is a combination of two naturally occurring ingredients. It is a complete herbicide and will kill both weeds and grasses. The active ingredients do not accumulate in the soil. Visible results within one day after treatment. Great alternative to Glyphosate.  Active ingredients pelargonic acid 3.102g/L and maleic hydrazide 4.95g/L.  The Pelargonic acid penetrates the waxy layer of the leaf and destroys the outer cell walls.  The second ingredient is carried to the roots giving lost lasting protection against regrowth of the weeds.  This product should be used in dry conditions and can be used to treat Horsetail and Ground Elder (apply every 4 weeks for these weeds).
