Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Slender Silhouette’
  •  A deciduous fastigiate tree found by Don Shadow, a nurseryman from Tennessee growing wild in the 1990s.
  • Dense, alternate, maple-like leaves.
  • Green leaves in the spring and summer. Orange leaves through to a purple-red colour in the autumn.
  • Full sun/partial shade.
  • For best shape, grow in poor soil and don’t feed much - slower growth giving better shape.
  • At 30 years old, the original tree was 3m spread.
  • No corky fissures on the bark.
  • Good handling droughts once established.
  • 10 – 18m height.
