What makes Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ so special? It has heart shaped foliage that gradually changes to bronze with age and then a vivid red-yellow in autumn. Before these leaves appear, you will have small, bright-pink flowers that form in clusters on bare stems – absolutely beautiful!
Whilst we’re on the subject of Cercis Canadensis, we thought we’d also mention Cercis canadensis 'Eternal Flame’. It was the winner of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year Award 2021!
‘Eternal Flame’ is known for its colour changing habits. Starting off with a deep wine red to scarlet, through to a gorgeous orange and then finally reaching a bright yellow along the stem creating the illusion of a flame. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.
