Cercis Season

Cercis Season

A garden design staple, Cercis is a top tree choice for the smaller garden.

The vibrant pea-like flowers appear on bare stems in the early spring with stunning autumn leaf displays of blazing orange, bronze and red-purple heart-shaped leaves. Unusual flattened deep purple pods adorn the tree in large numbers.

We have a dazzling display and some great options on site and in stock.

Diane NEW. Diane is darker in colour than most Cercis with dark purple-pink flowers. Provender has some of the first plants to be offered to the UK market.

Merlot Deep purple-red leaves emerge after the deep pink-purple flowers.

Eternal Flame Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year 2021. The autumn display from Eternal Flame creates a visual feast for the eyes with changing leaf colour from main stem to branch tip.

Ruby Falls rose-purple flowers before the red-purple leaves appear.

Rising Sun Something a little different for you. Rose-pink flowers in spring with apricot coloured newly emerging foliage providing a vivid contrast. Golden yellow autumn foliage colour.

Forest Pansy An industry favourite with pale pink flowers in spring with dramatically contrasting red-purple emerging foliage.

As with all Cercis, the strongest foliage colours are produced when planted in full sun in a well-drained soil.
