Description:
Fast growing evergreen conifer which if not pruned will develop into a tall, columnar-conical tree with cinnamon-red shredding bark and spreading branches. The bright glossy dark green leaves are aromatic -smelling of pineapple when crushed and also after rain.
Climate/Position: Any position
Height/Spread: As a hedge keep trimmed to 1.8 metres or above.
As a tree will ultimately reach 30metres
Soil Requirements: Best on moist but not waterlogged soil but will tolerate shallow chalk soil
Pruning: For hedging plants then trim in early August
Special Requirements: For a hedge hedge plant 60cm apart.
