Description: Early spring flowering large deciduous shrub with long pendulous racemes made up of individual yellow cup shaped flowers. This is an early flowering species with attractive purplish stem which act as the perfect back drop to the yellow racemes of flowers in spring.

Uses: Large shrub towards back of border, woodland garden, specimen shrub in lawns, can be used as a wall shrub  

Climate/Position: Dappled shade or full sun

Height/Spread: 3.5m/ 2.5m

Soil Requirements: Neutral to acidic

Pruning: Little pruning , light reshaping after flowering

Special Requirements: Prefers slightly acidic soils

Additional Interest:  Very early flowering shrub providing interest when not much else is in flower in the garden .
