Skimmia japonica ‘Rubella’
Description: A compact male clone with dark red margined leaves. Dark red flower buds are held between autumn and early spring. Scented pink - white flowers follow later in spring. Attractive, glossy evergreen foliage. Skimmias are generally low maintenance and can tolerate pollution coastal conditionsand neglect. Ideal for general borders, group planting in landscaped areas and in containers.

Soil Requirements: Fertile, moist but well drained, humus rich soil.
Pruning : None required. Can be lightly pruned after flowering
Special Requirements:
There are no berries on this male form of Skimmia, but if space then plant with female forms to ensure they are pollinated for an excellent show of red autumn berries on female forms.
