Description: Magnificent polished red – brown, mahogany like bark is best revealed in the winter when the tree has dropped its leaves. The bark peels when the tree is mature revealing even shinier bark beneath. Yellow autumn colour foliage. Small white flowers are borne in spring and bears small insignificant fruit in the autumn.

Plant in a spot where the winter sun will highlight the polished mahogany bark. Under-plant with snowdrops and spring flowering bulbs.

Uses: Good for a small garden or a winter garden.
