Primula
Description:  Winter Primroses are available in a wide range of bright colours from white, yellow, orange various shades or pink/red and blue.  There is also an increasing number of more subtle and softer shades available and those with distinct markings and petal shapes.  Planted in self colour groups or mixed colours in the autumn will provide rich floral colour in late winter and spring.

Uses: Usually used as a bedding plant in both formal and informal bedding schemes as both edging plants and fillers.  Also good for adding colour to mixed planters and providing colour in the front areas of mixed borders.

Climate/Position:  Partial shade

Height/Spread:  30cm x 30cm

Soil Requirements:  Rich fertile soil which is moisture retentive.

Pruning:  Dead heading old flowers will increase repeat flowering

Special Requirements: When used as a bedding plant primroses are usually removed after flowering to be replaced with summer bedding.
