Potentilla fruticosa 'Goldfinger'
Description:
A very hardy and resilient bushy deciduous shrub noted for the long flowering season throughout spring and summer. 'Goldfinger' has masses of globe shaped golden-yellow flowers between July and October and is widely regarded as one of the best yellow-flowering Potentilla cultivars. Dense matt of small light green leaves on twiggy branches. Good for mass planting, ground cover and also as a low informal hedge.
Climate/Position: Preferably full sun for best flowering but will tolerate partial shade.
Height/Spread: 80cm x 100cm.
Soil Requirements: Easy to grow in any soils.
Pruning: None required but may be trimmed in spring to keep in shape or old stems may be removed to ground level to rejuvenate.
Special Requirements: Responds well if mulched to keep the ground moist.
Potentillas are Native to the Rocky, Cascade and Olympic mountains, these hardy plants flower continuously from June through October.
