Photinia x fraseri 'Pink Marble'
Description: A new variegated introduction of the popular evergreen shrub. The new foliage emerges a rich bright pink softening to blue-green with creamy white splashes of variegation and a pink edge so is very eye catching. Small white flowers in mid to late spring.
A worthwhile less vigorous form, useful for general planting, container growing or can be grown as a hedge.
Climate/Position: Full sun or partial shade. Some shelter advisable to avoid young shoots being scorched by late frost.
Height/Spread: Will grow up to 3 metres x 2 metres though can be kept smaller through regular pruning.
Soil Requirements: Any soil but must be well drained.
Pruning: Pruning may be done to improve shape or to rejuvenate older plants. Annual pruning in spring if grown as a hedge - the young pink shoots will then develop a little later than if unpruned.
Special Requirements: Avoid exposed Easterly winds to avoid damage to young growth in spring.
