Persicaria affinis 'Darjeeling Red'
Description: A mat forming evergreen perennial which is best used for mass planting as ground cover in moist fertile soils where they spread quickly to inhibit weed growth on areas of bare soil.
Dense spikes of deep pinkish red flowers in summer which darken as they mature. The large dark green leaves turn red in autumn and so give additional interest.
Good for areas at the front of a border, and low maintenance gardening.
Climate/Position: Full sun to partial shade
Height/Spread: 25cm x 50cm
Soil Requirements: Any fertile moist well-drained soil
Pruning: Flower spikes may be removed with shears in late autumn/winter
