Parthenocissus quinquifolia 'Red Wall'

Description: Lush particulaly shiny green leaves in summer and then in September the leaves turn a sensational flaming red colour which give a spectacular show on larger walls. Self clinging when established with tendrils clinging to its host.  Deciduous.

Uses: For use as a climber on larger walls or through larger trees where it will climb and then trial down giving quite a show.

Climate/Position: Prefers full sun but will tolerate semi-shade.

Height/Spread: 12 metres height x 6 metres spread where space allows

Soil Requirements: Requires moist, well-drained soil.

Pruning: No pruning required in general but if outgrowing its space then trim longer growths in winter or Spring and tidy from windows.gutters in summer.

Special Requirements: Best to start off on a frame until attached to the wall or frame.
