Description:

A very tough form of switchgrass with wide thick olive green leaves. Very wind and drought tolerant.

This plant can be used to give a strong vertical accent to any garden or is very good for mass planting and ground cover. The foliage is topped in September by attractive narrow plumes and then the leaves turn golden yellow for autumn.

Climate/Position: Full to partial sun

Height/Spread: 1.5metres. Clump forming with rhizomes which spread.

Soil Requirements: Wide range of soils. When established is draught tolerant.

Pruning: Cut back all stems to ground level at the start of spring - March.
