Magnolia 'Lois'

Description: An unusual yellow Magonlia which is reputed to be the best! Has an intense colour of clear yellow and is late flowering in Mid April lasting for up to 4 weeks. Upright habit and quick growing when young so quicky reaches its mature size. Considered one of the best yellow Magnolias for the garden.

Uses: As a specimen plant or in any mixed border.

Climate/Position: Full or partial sun avoiding early morning sun if possible to avoid damage of late frost.

Height/Spread: 2.5 metres height and spread.

Soil Requirements: Best in a rich deep soil with plenty of moisture and slightly acidic soil though fairly lime tolerant.

Pruning: No pruning required. Any shaping of the plant is best done after the plant has finished the main flowering period in late spring.

Special Requirements: Mulch in spring to maintain moisture especially on drier soils.
