Juncus effusus 'Starhead'
Description: A compact fresh green grass like rush which produces dark purple small flower clusters June to August which are long lasting so provide interest through to the autumn.
Uses: Can be planted in containers and can be used as a bedding plant. Otherwise any border or smaller courtyard setting providing an interesting contrast in leaf shape.
Climate/Position: Sunny position prefered
Height/Spread: Only 25cm tall with spread of 75cm
Soil Requirements: As this is a rush then moist soil is prefered.
Pruning: Grasses are best cut back to the ground in late winter - March
