Gleditsia triacanthos 'Sunburst'

Description:

A small to medium tree which has striking golden yellow fern like foliage in spring turning pale-green in summer and yellow again in autumn and so is often planted for contrast against darker green backgrounds.

'Sunburst' is an open airy tree which is spineless unlike the species which has long spines and large seedpods.

Useful as a specimen an any garden situation.

Climate/Position: Full sun to partial shade.

Height/Spread: 12 x 8 metres

Soil Requirements: Suited for any soil including those which are drought prone.

Pruning: Generally not required apart from shaping. Any dead wood can be removed at any time.
