Fuchsia 'Lady Boothby'

Description: An unusual climbing fuchsia with a multitude of single pendulous flowers of contrasting magenta and deep purple produced on tall red stems from summer through to autumn. Extremely vigorous growth each season easily covering trellis, walls and fences. Deciduous and hardy returning each year to climb again!

Climate / Position: Full sun / partial shade.

Height / Spread: Height up to 1.2 to 2m, spread up to 1m in one season!

Soil Requirements: Moist, fertile soil but well-drained. Plant with the base of the stem approx 5cm below the soil surface.

Pruning : None required however can be cut back hard in spring.

Special Requirements: Support required for the Fuchsia against a wall or fence. Provide a deep mulch in the winter. Plant with the base of the stem approx 5cm below the soil surface.

First raised in the UK in 1939 from a wild Brazilian species and named after the founder of the British Fuchsia Society.
