Carex oshimensis 'Evergold'

Description: Grassy looking evergreen sedge with narrow arching leaves leaves, each with centre striped yellow and deep green margins.

The plants make graceful, arching clumps that do not spread which works well when planted en mass as low maintenance ground cover as well as many other uses in containers, patio planting etc. Especially good in light shade. The leaf colour stands out in the winter months so provides valuable interest all year round.

Climate / Position: Sun or partial shade.

Height / Spread: Height 25 - 30cm. Spread 25 - 30cm.

Soil Requirements: Any fertile soil which should be moist but well drained..

Pruning : None required - remove old leaves if deemed necessary by combing through the plant in winter with your fingers to remove dead foliage. Avoid cutting tips of leaves as they will brown and spoil overall effect.

Special Requirements: None required.

Very useful as can be used in containers and mixed borders to brighten up dull, partially shaded areas.
