Buddleja 'Silver Anniversary'
Description: This Buddleia has a smaller compact habit and is grown for the very silvery wooly evergreen foliage. The flowers are less significant than most Buddleja comprising of small panicles of 50 - 60 whitish flowers with mustard yellow eyes, however they have the attraction of being scented smelling of sweet honey and they do attract butterflies.
Uses: Good among pastel coloured summer herbaceous and excellent in wildlife gardens attracting butterflies. As this is a smaller Buddleija it is suitable for the smaller garden.
Climate/Position: Full sun
Height/Spread: Smaller than many Buddleja reaching 1.5 metres.
Soil Requirements: Any fertile soil must be well drained.
Pruning: Prune back hard in March, removing all of the previous year's growth to three or four buds.
