Eastern flowering dogwood 'Cherokee A small tree or large shrub which has a branching habit and develops to a tiered specimen. Its flowers in April are in fact-coloured bracts and this variety is noted for its brilliant deep rosy red coloured and very showy 'bracts' Leaves are tinged purple in spring, green in summer and provide excellent deep purple autumn colour. Prefers sun to partial shade. avoid exposed areas. Height and spread 5 x 3 metres. Grows in any free draining soil. Avoid shallow chalky soils.
