Asplenium scolopendrium

Common name: Hart's tongue fern
Family: Aspleniaceae

Origin: Europe, West Asia

Description: A very popular, hardy evergreen fern producing strap shaped glossy bright green fronds up to 40cm long. The leaves often have wavy margins.

An invaluable plant for adding structure to shaded areas. The evergreen foliage keeps its glossy lustre all year round - looks great when wet. Plant with plenty of other ferns for best effect and all year round interest.

Climate / Position: Does best in partial shade.

Soil Requirements: Likes a moist but well drained humus rich soil. Prefers a lime-free soil.

Height / Spread: Height 45-70cm. Spread 60cm.

Pruning: None needed. Old leaves may be removed if needed.
